Gang Discord

Connect your gang’s own Discord server to parole. You get gang chat, vault logs and gang events in your channels.

Add to Discord

You need Manage Server in your gang’s Discord server. The bot only asks to view channels, send messages, embed links and read message history.

Setup

    Add the bot

    Add the bot to your gang’s Discord server with the button above.

    Link your Minecraft account

    In game, run /link to get a code. Then in Discord, run /link code:<code> in the parole Discord or in any server with the bot. The code expires after 5 minutes.

    Connect your channels

    As the Gangmaster, go to the channel you want to connect and run /gangconnect type: with one of:

    chat

    Two-way gang chat. Every message in that channel goes to gang chat in game, whoever sends it.

    vault

    Vault logs.

    events

    Gang events, such as joins, leaves and promotions.

    Use a different channel for each one. You need Manage Channels in that channel.

    Check the connection

    Run /gangstatus to see which channels are connected. Any linked member of the gang can run it.

    Disconnect

    To stop, the Gangmaster runs /gangdisconnect in the connected channel.

Troubleshooting

The commands don’t show up
Discord can take up to an hour to show the bot’s commands in a server it just joined. Try again later, or restart Discord.
“Link your Minecraft account first”
Run /link in game, then /link code:<code> in Discord (step 2).
“Only the Gangmaster can do this”
Only the gang’s current Gangmaster can connect or disconnect channels. Your linked Minecraft account must be the Gangmaster.
“You need Manage Channels here”
Ask a server admin to give you Manage Channels, for that channel or for the whole server.
“This channel is already used by …”
A channel can only be connected to one gang. Pick another channel, or have that gang’s Gangmaster run /gangdisconnect there.
“The bot can’t send messages here”
Give the bot View Channel and Send Messages in that channel (check the channel’s permission overrides too), then run /gangconnect again.
“Gang channels go in your gang’s own Discord server”
The gang commands don’t work in the parole Discord itself. Run them in your gang’s server.
