Privacy Policy

What we store about you in-game, on Discord, in the store and on this website.

Last updated 23 October 2026

This policy explains what parole stores about you when you play on parole.rocks, use our Discord server or bot, buy from the store, or visit this website. It also covers who can see it, how long we keep it, and how to get it removed. It goes with the Terms of Service.

1.The short version

  • ‣We store your Minecraft UUID and username, the IP addresses you connect from, and your progress on the server.
  • ‣Staff can read chat, private messages (/msg) and the commands you run, and an automatic filter run by Anthropic checks chat for abuse.
  • ‣Public chat, join messages, bans and store purchases are shown in game and in a public Discord channel.
  • ‣If you link Discord, we store your Discord ID with your Minecraft account.
  • ‣Payments go through PayNow. We never see your card or bank details.
  • ‣This website has no analytics, ads or cookies.
  • ‣We don’t sell your data.

To see or delete your data, open a ticket on Discord.

2.What we store and why

DataWhat exactlyWhy
Minecraft accountUUID, current username and past usernames. To know who you are between sessions, and to find you when staff look you up.
ConnectionThe IP address you join from, and the last 10 IPs you used with when they were first and last seen. Whether you joined directly or through MineKeep or Minehut. Your Minecraft version while you’re online, and your ping.Bans, finding alts and ban evasion, protecting staff accounts, blocking attacks, and checking server performance.
GameplayInventories, ender chest, chocolate, golden chocolate, credits, guard bits and XP, stats (kills, deaths, escapes and more), playtime and AFK time, last join, ranks and permissions, gang membership, settings like ignore lists and streamer mode.To run the game and keep your progress.
Chat and commandsPublic, team and gang chat, private messages (/msg), and every command you run, with your name and the time.Moderation: checking reports, catching abuse, scams and exploits.
Moderation recordsWarnings, mutes, kicks and bans with their reason, length and proof; guard strikes and demotions; reports you make or that are made about you; chat filter strikes; alt approvals.Enforcing the rules, handling appeals, and seeing repeat offences.
AnticheatWhen a check flags you: your position, the target’s position, ping, the item you held and recent hit distances.Catching hacked clients.
Gang vaultEvery item added to or taken from a gang vault, by whom.Gang members can check their vault, and staff use it to handle vault raiding.

We don’t log the blocks you place or break, and we don’t collect your client brand, mod list or real name.

3.Discord

If you link your Minecraft account with /link, we store your Discord user ID, when you linked, your Discord account’s creation date (read from the ID), and when you joined our Discord server. We keep a history of links and unlinks, so one Discord account can’t collect the link reward twice and staff can spot account sharing. You can /unlink 30 days after linking.

Our bot reads messages in the servers it is in, so it can relay chat, run commands, handle tickets and filter invite spam. It can see message content and the member list, but not your online status or activity.

In our Discord server:

  • ‣Messages in the Minecraft chat channel are shown in game under your Discord name.
  • ‣Tickets store your Discord name and ID, the Minecraft username you give and what you write. Closed tickets are archived, not deleted, and a summary is sent to you and to staff. Carl-bot, a third-party moderation bot, is added to ticket threads.
  • ‣Messages with an invite link from members who joined less than 3 days ago are removed and shown to staff.
  • ‣If you leave the server while you’re a guard, we note when, because it affects your guard rank.

Every bot command and slash command is logged with your Discord name and ID, the channel and the server.

4.The gang Discord bot

When a gang connects its own Discord server, we store that server’s ID and the IDs of the gang chat, vault log and event channels.

From then on, the gang’s chat, vault logs and gang events are posted in that server, where its owners and anyone who can see the channel can read them. Messages written in the gang chat channel are shown in game to the gang with the author’s Discord name. That Discord server is run by players, not by us, so its owners decide who can see it.

Commands run in a gang server are logged like any other bot command.

5.Guard applications

Applying with /apply needs a linked Discord account and 2 hours of playtime. Your answers, score and result are posted for the recruitment team with your Minecraft name, UUID and Discord account, and the result is sent to you in a Discord DM. We store when you last applied and when you were last denied.

Some applications can include written questions, such as your age, your timezone and why you want to be a guard. Your answers are only shared with staff.

Some application campaigns use a Google Form. Those answers are stored by Google and read by our staff.

6.Store purchases

The store runs on PayNow, which processes your payment as the merchant of record. PayNow collects your payment details, email address and billing information under its own Privacy Policy. We don’t receive card or bank details.

We send PayNow your Minecraft UUID and username so it can create your customer account and deliver purchases. PayNow sends back what you bought, so the server can deliver it.

We store your credits, how much you spent and gifted on the store, and your parole+ membership dates. Purchases, credit changes and refunds are logged for staff.

7.This website

This website has no analytics, ads, tracking or cookies of our own, and no forms.

It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which handles your request and may log your IP address for security. To show the live player and Discord counts, your browser asks api.mcstatus.io and Discord directly. Fonts load from Google Fonts. Each of them sees your IP address, like any website you visit.

The store at store.parole.rocks is hosted by PayNow and also loads player heads from crafatar.com and mc-heads.net, which see the username or UUID being shown.

8.What is public

Some things are shown to every player, and in the public Minecraft chat channel of our Discord server:

  • ‣Public chat, with your username.
  • ‣Join, leave and first-join messages.
  • ‣Bans and mutes, with their reason and length, unless staff hand them out silently.
  • ‣Store purchases.
  • ‣Leaderboards (escapes, guard XP, playtime, gangs and more), and your stats and playtime, which anyone can look up with a Discord command.
  • ‣Your gang, its level and its members.

9.What staff can see

Staff work from staff-only Discord channels and in-game tools. Depending on their rank they can see:

  • ‣Team chat, gang chat, private messages and the commands you run.
  • ‣Reports, /helpop requests, anticheat alerts and chat filter alerts.
  • ‣Your moderation history, and which accounts share an IP address with yours (alts). Staff see that accounts are linked, not your IP address. Only admins can see addresses.
  • ‣Your Discord link history and account age.

Staff are players we trust and are expected to keep this to themselves.

10.The automatic chat filter

Public chat, team chat, gang chat and private messages are checked by an AI model, Claude by Anthropic, for abuse aimed at a person, like slurs, harassment and telling someone to kill themselves. To judge a message in context, we send Anthropic the message, the sender’s username, the channel type, and up to 10 earlier messages from the same channel from the last 5 minutes, with their usernames.

A flagged message is shown to staff and can give a strike: a warning or a mute, which grows with each strike. Strikes expire after 30 days. Staff can review and remove them, and you can appeal in a ticket.

Anthropic processes this data to give us a verdict and does not use it to train its models. The recent chat we send along is only kept in the server’s memory, for 5 minutes.

11.Services that receive data

We use these services to run parole. We don’t sell data to anyone, and nobody gets it for advertising.

ServiceWhat they getWhy
Mojang / MicrosoftYour login, as with every online-mode server.Checking your Minecraft account.
MineKeep, MinehutYour login and IP address, only if you join through their networks.Letting you join from those networks.
DiscordEverything posted by or to our bot, including chat relays, logs and tickets. Our community, staff tools and the gang bot.
AnthropicChat messages with usernames (see above). The automatic chat filter.
PayNowMinecraft UUID and username, and what you give them at checkout.Payments and delivery.
Carl-botTicket threads in our Discord server.Discord moderation.
GoogleYour answers, if you fill in an application form. Some guard application campaigns.
Cloudflare, mcstatus.io, Google FontsYour IP address when you visit this website.Hosting and live counts.

Some of these services are outside the European Economic Area, mainly in the United States. They handle data under their own privacy policies.

We can share data with the authorities if the law requires it, or to protect players from serious harm.

12.Legal bases

Where privacy laws like the GDPR apply, we rely on:

  • ‣Running the service you asked for (the Terms of Service): your account, progress, purchases and gang.
  • ‣Our legitimate interest in a safe and fair server: moderation, logs, the chat filter, alt detection, anticheat and security.
  • ‣Your choice: linking Discord, applying to be a guard, and connecting a gang Discord server are optional.
  • ‣Legal obligations: for example, keeping payment records (handled by PayNow).

13.How long we keep it

DataKept
Your player profile and progressAs long as parole runs, or until you ask us to delete it. A new season can reset seasonal progress.
IP addressesThe last 10 per network you join from. Older ones are dropped.
Moderation records, IP bans and Discord link historyAs long as parole runs, so bans and repeat offences can be enforced.
Chat filter strikes30 days.
Chat context for the filter, in-game chat history for staffServer memory only, for 5 and 10 minutes.
Minecraft version and link codesUntil you leave, and 5 minutes.
Logs and archived tickets in DiscordUntil deleted. We don’t clear them on a schedule.
Server log filesKept on the server for moderation, with no fixed deletion date.
BackupsDaily, and the newest 7 are kept, so deleted data is gone from backups within about a week.

14.Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to limit or object to how we use it, or to get it in a portable form.

Open a ticket on Discord and tell us your Minecraft username. We’ll check that the account is yours (usually through your linked Discord account, or by asking you to join the server) and reply within a month.

When we delete your data, we remove your profile, progress, Discord link and store data from the server. We keep what we need to enforce the rules: active bans, your moderation history and the IP addresses tied to a ban. Messages already posted in Discord or in a gang’s own Discord server stay there unless you ask us to remove them, and PayNow keeps its own payment records.

If you’re in the EEA or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

15.Children

You need to be at least 13 to use parole, or older where your country requires it, the same as Discord. If you’re younger than that, don’t play or join the Discord server. If you think a child under 13 has given us data, tell us in a ticket and we’ll delete it.

We don’t ask for your age, except optionally in a guard application.

16.Security

The database and admin tools are not reachable from the internet, and only server admins can reach them. Staff accounts need an approved IP address, and a login from a new IP alerts the admins. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach puts you at risk, we’ll announce it on Discord.

17.Changes and contact

We update this policy when what we store changes. The date at the top shows the last change, and big changes are announced on Discord.
